In our Latitude Loves series, we’re showcasing the best in music, arts, theatre and comedy from across the festival.
In this edition, we’re catching up with London-based quintet, The Last Dinner Party, as they talk about all things music and festival related! We hope you’re just as excited as we are to catch them at Latitude this year.
This isn’t just your first time playing Latitude, but your first festival circuit as a band! What about festival season are you excited for most?
We’re excited to really immerse ourselves in the current music scene, festivals are the best opportunity to throw yourself into a living breathing community of artists and audiences you might not normally reach by just playing city venues. We thrive being surrounded by that energy. You can sort of suspend reality at a festival and for a day or two it’s the only place that exists and you’re consumed by music and nature.
You’ve yet to release any music – describe your sound in 5 words?
Theatrical, decadent, emotional, euphoric, painterly.
What can the Latitude audience expect at a show of The Last Dinner Party?
Gorgeous carnage.
Are you excited to see any other acts on the line up?
Pulp is at the top of our list. Black Midi too. And Siouxsie!
Will you be releasing any new music for your fans before the festival?
We may or may not have dropped our first ever single…
Love the sound of London’s freshest new group? Check out The Last Dinner Party and more at Latitude this year!
